QADA’s LEGAL ADVOCACY SERVICE
Queensland Aged & Disability Advocacy (QADA) is pleased to announce the commencement of its new free legal service for Guardianship and Administration matters as an addition to its current services. QADA has been provided funding through the Legal Practitioner Interest on Trust Accounts Fund (LPITAF) to employ a suitably qualified person to provide advice and support to clients or potential clients who are going through the GAAT, or alternate dispute resolution, as appropriate. After 12 months of developing this service, QADA has recently appointed a Principal Legal Officer for this program.

QADA’s Legal Advocacy Division provides information, advice and legal representation to enable people to understand and exercise their rights and responsibilities. This service also provides referral and community education for eligible clients and community groups.

The focus of QADA’s Legal Advocacy is to assist adults, with capacity issues, who are going through or may be going through the GAAT processes and clients of our aged care programs. The Legal Advocacy Division is based in Brisbane but will operate throughout Queensland.

A referral is not necessary and where required, an interpreter can be arranged.
